My grandmother fought breast cancer for six years. Since 1970, the number of cases in the U.S. has increased by more than 200 percent, but known risk factors explain fewer than half of these cases. Research suggests that other factors might also be playing a role, from environmental ones like air pollution to social ones like racism. This terrible disease needs to be eradicated; it runs in my family - I've seen it firsthand - so I'm always hungry to learn more about it.

She's no longer swimming against the stream. T-Swift joined the green music-industry giant a couple of weeks back, reversing her refusal to do so in 2014. I can remember when whatever Z100 was playing was the hottest thing on Earth. Now that cachet has transferred to Spotify's "Today's Top Hits" playlist, which almost universally decides what's hot now. It's vital for the music industry. As for why Taylor changed her mind, maybe she just found it too hard to shake it off. My recs? "Swalla," "Wild Thoughts," "Humble" and "Location."

Haiti's New President Is Farming Out Big Ideas

The new Haitian president, Jovenel Moïse, is young and has lots to say, especially about agriculture, which he sees as key to rescuing Haiti. The 10-million-strong nation was first devastated by an earthquake and then by a cholera epidemic. This one hits close to home: I'm of Haitian descent, and Haiti has had some really bad luck. But it's a proud, beautiful country whose people persevere. I'd love to do my part to get Haiti back on track.

Basketball Meets Baller Fashion

Looking good goes beyond reps. I like to keep it tight when I hit the streets, too. I've been obsessed with fashion for a long time because your style is an important vehicle of self-expression. And when I heard the NBA was debuting a style award this year, I was mad interested, because before I was making plays across the charts, I had hoop dreams. I was a point guard, and I like to think that if I had gone all the way, maybe I would have given my acceptance speech that night. But since it couldn't be me, I'll accept defeat to Russell Westbrook. The man has nice taste, and I like the fact that he goes off the wall.

Why Sweating Is Smart

So much of what I do involves being active that it's a must for me to be in my best shape, both physically and mentally. You can find me in the gym daily, but my preferred method of sweat takes place in the ring. I have a boxing gym in New York called Rumble, and I love it because it means working out while having fun. The vibe is like a club. While it has long stood that exercise benefits you from the neck down, like the lungs and heart, new research suggests that aerobic exercise like boxing is the best for your brain. Sweat is sexy and smart, kids.

Warren Buffet Makes Another Big Bet

I love the saying "What would Warren Buffet do?" It's really human to fall into thinking about things, particularly investments, without the right mindset, and I find it helpful to ask if Buffet would do this or invest in that. His latest $9 billion infrastructure play to acquire Oncor, a Texas power company, seems like another bold move. My own investment advice is to lead with your passion. If you lead with passion and it doesn't work out, then at least it's still something you love doing.

Face it, beards are definitely in. I'm a pretty good barber - I'll even hook it up for my cousins when they're in need. This article out of Melbourne really got my attention - first, because Australia is my No. 1 favorite place on the planet, but more importantly, because salons are raking in more than $1.4 million a year in manscaping mastery. While I might not have time to take my talents to the chair, I probably could force myself to travel Down Under ... just to check out the competition.
