Worried about the many food temptations you'll be faced with this Fourth of July? Take a deep breath and remember: You do have control over your choices. The trick is having a plan in place for staying on track. These dining-out tips will help you navigate any social situation — whether you're at a restaurant, party or cookout. When dining out, remember to practice social distancing, too. Pretty soon you'll see how easy it is to eat away from home without sabotaging your weight-loss plan.

Get Moving
Stay active on vacation
There are plenty of opportunities to fit in physical activity, practice social distancing and make it fun no matter where you are. Move as much as possible and explore the sights in a new environment by hiking, biking, walking or running. Or try an activity you've never done before, such as kayaking or rafting. You'll get a great workout while practicing social distancing and being adventurous!

Saturated fats and trans fats can increase your risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Reduce saturated fats and trans fats by cutting the use of butter, lard, shortening and margarine when cooking. Instead, cook with unsaturated fats, such as olive, canola or vegetable oils.
